Landscape photography played a similar role in the preservation of Yosemite. There was a major improvement in the technical quality of photography in 1860. In 1867, landscape photographs of C. E. Watkins were awarded a bronze medal at the Paris International Exposition. These photographs provided Yosemite with an international reputation. |
