Winona's Activists and More
Kay P. Kay and her husband own the land adjacent to the facility. Kay is a member of MOSES.
MOSES has many supporters, including Tommy, who rides his bicycle to the meetings, and Phyllis Glazer's former gardener, Charles Sharpe, who now is one of MOSES' strongest supporters.
Linda Smiley told me about her sister in-law, Pat McGaughey. Pat was Winona's first activist for the cause, and formed the Concerned Citizens of Winona/Owentown in 1986. She died when her car collided with a train in 1988. A few years after Pat's death, her mother received a phone call consisting of nothing more than a train whistle.
