MOSES at the STAND FOR THE CHILDREN DAY Rally in Washington, DC

MOSES chartered a bus for fifty-five people (mostly children) to travel to Washington, DC for the Stand For Children Day rally on June 1, 1996. This was the group's second trip to the nation's capitol. The first trip in 1994 was funded by East Texas native, environmentalist, and legendary rock and roll musician, Don Henley.

Phyllis Glazer, president and founder of MOSES, lined up Congressional meetings so that the Winona residents could tell their stories. MOSES made such an impact on the House of Representatives and the Senate that the group was asked to stay longer in order to meet with the White House Executive Office of the President of the United States Council on Environmental Quality.
